Statement by Brad Chambers on Politico’s Report of U.S. Senator Mike Braun’s Ties to China

INDIANAPOLIS (May 4, 2024) – Republican gubernatorial candidate Brad Chambers today released the following statement after Politico reported on U.S. Senator Mike Braun’s ties to China, including his company buying and selling Chinese-made parts:

“Instead of putting America first or putting Hoosiers first, Mike Braun puts himself first — that’s his track record,” stated Brad Chambers. “Despite his campaign pledge to bring jobs back to Indiana from China, he’s instead sent more there, buying and selling Chinese-made parts and flooding the U.S. market with them.”

“This report certainly raises more questions than it answers,” he added. “But one thing is clear: U.S. Senator Mike Braun is just your typical say-one-thing-do-another career politician. Hoosiers deserve better.”

BACKGROUND

From the article: “But as the owner of an auto parts distribution company, Braun has economic ties to China, including his own company importing Chinese-made parts and leasing land near his headquarters to a second company that routinely imported products to the U.S. from the country.”
