INDIANAPOLIS (Apr. 11, 2024) – Republican gubernatorial candidate and former Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers today released the following statement after the state awarded $500 million in READI 2.0 funding to 15 regions representing all 92 counties:
“READI is transforming rural and urban communities across the state not just through new housing, infrastructure, parks, workforce development initiatives and more, but by bringing them together like never before,” stated Chambers. “I’m proud to have helped design and administer this program as Indiana’s secretary of commerce alongside incredible partners in Governor Eric Holcomb and the state legislature. As governor, I’ll continue to support READI and make quality of life investments to help keep our kids and grandkids in Indiana.”
“READI is yet another differentiator in this race,” he added. “Unlike the Regional Cities Initiative that Eric Doden used to give three of Indiana’s four largest cities $42 million, READI is investing and leveraging tens of billions of dollars in communities rural and urban across the state, impacting all of Indiana’s 92 counties.”
