INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 13, 2023) – Republican gubernatorial candidate and former Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers today released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Energy announced the Midwest Alliance for Clean Hydrogen (MachH2), a regional coalition that includes Indiana, would receive up to $1 billion in grant funding to develop a “regional clean hydrogen hub”:
“Indiana isn’t standing idly by in the development of the high-wage economy of the future,” stated Chambers. “Recognizing Indiana as a proving ground for the hydrogen economy, as Secretary of Commerce, I encouraged collaboration among industry leaders and our world-class academic institutions to ensure the state would be positioned to get more than its fair share in the opportunities presented by this funding award. That’s what playing economic offense means, and that’s the same approach I’ll use as governor to lead Indiana into the future and create conditions for prosperity for our kids and grandkids.”
